Developers to speed up launch of flats to keep up with rising demand

Up to 7,900 units are due to go on the market.

According to a report from South China Morning Post, developers in Hong Kong will be in a haste to launch new flats to meet the increasing demand.

As many as 7,900 apartment units in 20 new projects are scheduled for launch in the second quarter. Meanwhile developers had been encouraged by the demand over the past two weeks to raise prices.

Two major projects by Cheung Kong Property Holdings and Sun Hung Kai Properties, two of Hong Kong’s bellwether developers, will offer clues as to the market’s direction.
