Two campus sites available under Land Grant Scheme
Open to non-profit-making education institutions.
A land site at Mount Davis and vacant school premises in Ma On Shan are available for application under the Land Grant Scheme.
The Education Bureau announced invites non-profit making education institutions to apply for a 6,700-square-metre site at Mount Davis for operating self-financing full-time, locally accredited degree programmes, which will be granted to the successful applicant at a nominal premium by Private Treaty Grant.
Buildings at the site, formerly the Victoria Road Detention Centre, are Grade 3 historic buildings and should be preserved according to Antiquities & Monuments Office conservation guidelines.
A 5,500 square meter site in Ma On Shan, formerly the FDBWA Mrs Fung Ping Shan Primary School premises, is available for a college to offer self-financing full-time, locally accredited programs at sub-degree level or above. The site will be leased to the successful applicant at nominal rent.
Institutions applying for these sites may also apply for loans for renovation under the start-up loan scheme. The application deadline is May 3.
An independent vetting committee will consider all land and loan applications, and make recommendations to the Secretary for Education.
