Gov’t rejects tender for Chai Wan site
It received only one tender for the site
The Hong Kong government rejected the tender received for a Chai Wan site on Cheung Man Road as it did not meet the price set for the site.
The site would have enabled provision of not less than 700 private subsidised sale flats (SSFs), according to authorities. Despite this, the site received only a single tender when it was put up on public bidding between March and July this year.
The Chai Wan site was launched under the Private Subsidised Sale Flat Pilot Scheme, which outlined how private developers can participate in the development of subsidised sale flats (SSFs).
The government said it will continue to evaluate the market’s development and adjust the parameters of the pilot scheme for future tender arrangements.
