Luxury can be much more than meets the eye. Beyond the glitz and glam, true luxury stems from living the good life. And according to Brandon Chau of Noblesse Lifestyle Group, the key is getting a great night’s sleep. We spend a huge bulk of our life in bed, be its sleeping, reading or simply enjoying some me time. While we are discerning when it comes to scoring top luxury items for other aspects of our lives, such as fne watches, cars and jewellery, we often neglect the importance of what a good bed can do for our life. 

And often it is not until we encounter problems with our sleep that we realise how important it is. Experiencing this frst hand, Brandon Chau, founder of Noblesse Lifestyle Group, was concerned with the quality and quantity of his sleep. While the group aims to expand to include a range of lifestyle products that refect Chau’s passion for luxury living, the core of the brand currently focuses on luxury bedding, naming the British brand Vi-Spring and French brand Treca Interiors Paris, a house dedicated to bedroom designs. “I had sleeping problems a few years back. It was due to stress and I had a lot on my mind. I tried several different things to help improve the situation. But then I began to wonder if changing the bed is the solution,” he recalls. And on a chance encounter on holiday in London, Chau discovered the luxury-bedding brand Vi-Spring, a British manufacturer specialising in top quality and personalised luxury bed. “At frst, luxury bedding seemed to be a novelty concept to me. Then I began to learn more about it; each bed is hand made with all natural materials using traditional technique. I became fascinated with the brand, especially after I tried it for myself,” he says.

Chau describes his frst experience sleeping on a Vi-Spring bed as “Like I’ve never slept before,” likening the naturally supportive bed to a tailored suit. “Because it’s customised to ft your body and it has no foam, latex or synthetic materials, it provides a very natural and intimate sleeping experience,” he says. After experiencing drastic improvement with his own sleep, he decided to introduce this new sleeping concept to Hong Kong. “I felt there’s a huge demand for a luxury bed like Vi-Spring in Hong Kong because we lead such busy lives in this city and it’s crucial for us to be able to feel energised. With these beds, I’m able to sleep less but feel more energised than ever before.” The bed themselves are unique labours of love, each hand crafted in Britain by seasoned craftsman according to the client’s body type and preferences. “We have a guideline that offers pointers to our clients as to the type of frmness, tension and height of the mattress that best suits them.” But at the end of the day, Chau says it’s all a matter of personal preference, since the bedroom is the most intimate space a person can own.

Chau also saw a need that stretched beyond the realms of the existing repertoire at Vi-Spring and pioneered a range especially for the Hong Kong market. “I saw a demand for baby beds. Baby mattresses are usually made with foam and other synthetic materials. But babies’ bodies are fragile and the support of a good bed is crucial for their development." With regard to ft different customer’s desire, Noblesse Lifestyle Group brought the two brands, Vi- Spring and Treca Interiors Paris, to the group’s portfolio. While Vi- Spring is all about heritage and traditional craftsmanship and technique, Treca Interiors Paris focuses on bringing an element of design into the bedroom and their products are made to be fully integrated into it. Treca Interiors Paris’ beds are also made entirely by hand, featuring cashmere on one side for the winter months and corn and bamboo fbres on the other for the spring/summer months.
