Retail sales up 26% in March 2011

Total retail sales was estimated at $31.2 billion, said the Census & Statistics Department.

According to the Hong Kong Information Services Department, the volume of total retail sales grew 20%. This is after considering the effect of price changes over the same period.

Total retail sales for the first three months in 2011 rose 21% in value or 16.3% in volume over the same period last year.
