Vodafone jumps from SmarTone to Hutchison Telecommunications

Hutchison Telecommunications Hong Kong will be Vodafone’s “preferred non-equity partner” in the city following the end of a seven-year partnership with SmarTone.

“Vodafone Group Plc said it reached an agreement with Hong Kong billionaire Li Ka-shing’s local mobile-phone unit to offer wireless services after ending a partnership with SmarTone Telecommunications Holdings Ltd,” noted a Bloomberg report.

According to the report, Hutchison Telecommunications Hong Kong and Vodafone will collaborate in services including roaming and marketing.
