Check out the Macau debut of new Mercedes-AMG GT3
Mercedes-Benz Hong Kong Limited is holding a launch event for the newly developed racing car which complies with the FIA’s GT3 race rules – the new Mercedes-AMG GT3, at the poolside of Portofino, The Venetian Macao.
In addition to this new customer sports model with intelligent vehicle concept, 3 different AMG models will also be presented including C 43 Cabriolet, S 63 Cabriolet, and GLC 43. To make this special occasion, our Title Defender for 2016 FIA GT World Cup, Maro Engel and Renger van der Zande and special guest, Mika Hakkinen, attended the event.
Developed with the ideal prerequisites of standard Mercedes-AMG GT, the new Mercedes-AMG GT3 possesses low centre of gravity, perfect distribution of weight and wide track width which all contribute to the excellent lateral acceleration and cornering stability. With the six-speed sequential racing gearbox (as in the standard GT) and enhanced AMG 550hp 6.3-litre V8 engine taken from the SLS AMG GT3, this new model guarantees powerful driving performance.
The appearance of the new Mercedes-AMG GT3 simply speaks its unparalleled elegant aura. The body is covered by matt paintwork in design which echoes well with the masculine and dynamic characters of a racing car. Body shape, air intake and rear aerofoil are all made to ensure superior aerodynamic and hence improve the top speed performance.
The structure of the car is a very lightweight yet extremely rigid aluminium which provide full protection to the driver and passengers; other parts including engine cover, doors, boot lid and rear aerofoil are all made from lightweight carbon-fibre which further ensure the reduced overall weight of the car.
