According to a report, the Transport Department today launched the Hong Kong eRouting smartphone application.
It provides a point-to-point driving route service and real-time traffic information, and allows multiple input methods - map-based, text, categorised locations, current location, and bookmarks.
It offers multiple route choices, which include the shortest travel time, the shortest travel distance or the lowest toll.
Search results are displayed on a map, with detailed route information, the estimated travel time, the distance and road tolls.
Real-time traffic information, including CCTV snapshots, special traffic/transport arrangements, and special traffic news along the route are also provided.
Users can access data on the road situation, journey times, traffic speed, CCTV snapshots, petrol station locations, restricted zones, and on-street parking.
The iPhone and Android phone versions are free from the iPhone App Store and Google Play.
