Amid all price increases, carpark charges ride the tide

Monthly parking rates will jump 3%.

According to a government release, the Housing Authority's Commercial Properties Committee approved increases in monthly carpark charges from next year, while other charges including those for hourly carparks, day passes and 24-hour passes will remain unchanged.

The monthly parking charge for private cars will rise 3% to $1,040-$2,160 for covered spaces, and to $830-$1,780 for open spaces.

The monthly charge for vans will also rise 3% to $2,420 for covered spaces and to $1,860 for open spaces.

The monthly charge for motorcycles will rise from $330 to $350 for covered spaces and from $270 to $280 for open spaces.
