Liantang-Heung Yuen Wai Boundary Control Point to open by 2018
Design work for ancillary facilities is underway.
According to a report, Hong Kong and Shenzhen authorities hope to open the new Liantang-Heung Yuen Wai Boundary Control Point no later than 2018, and will continue discussions on co-developing the Lok Ma Chau Loop.
At the Hong Kong-Shenzhen Joint Task Force on Boundary District Development's 11th meeting in Hong Kong today, Secretary for Development Paul Chan and Shenzhen Municipal Government Executive Vice Mayor Lu Ruifeng noted the control point project's substantial progress.
Both sides reached a consensus on architectural features and details of the passenger terminal building. Hong Kong has started work a connecting road and a river regulation project, and design work for ancillary facilities is underway.
After the meeting, both governments’ representatives toured the new Kai Tak Cruise Terminal.
