Transport complaints jump 19.3% to 6,445

According to a government release, the Transport Complaints Unit of the Transport Advisory Committee received 6,445 complaints and suggestions in the third quarter of 2012, up 19.3% on the previous quarter.
Of these, 119 were suggestions.
The complaints and suggestions were mostly related to public transport services (90%), enforcement matters (6%), and traffic conditions (2%).
The number of cases related to public transport services increased by 19.7% to 5,821. Complaints and suggestions regarding traffic conditions increased from 121 in the last quarter to 168. Cases related to road maintenance decreased slightly from 49 to 48. The number of complaints about illegal parking and other enforcement matters increased from 335 to 375.
All complaints and suggestions have been referred to relevant government departments and public transport operators for follow-up action.
