HSBC Life extends nCov benefit programme to families of policyholders

Policyholders and families will receive complimentary benefits starting 1 February.

HSBC Life has extended its special novel coronavirus (nCov) benefit programme to all of its life insurance policyholders and their immediate families, according to a news release.

Starting 1 February, all customers with any HSBC Life insurance policy and their family members will receive a complimentary Novel Coronavirus Benefit with coverage granted for one year. If an insured client is admitted to hospital due to the coronavirus, they will receive a hospital cash benefit of $128.76 (HKD1,000) for up to 45 days.

If an insured client is diagnosed with the virus by a registered medical practitioner, the grace period for all future premium coverage due in the next 12 months will be extended to 180 days.

For clients taking out a new life insurance policy from 1 February to 30 April, they and their family members will receive a diagnosis cash lump sum benefit of $2,575 (HKD20,000). If the insured passes away due to the virus, their beneficiary will be paid a death benefit of $23,177 (HKD180,000).
