Insurance regulator grants virtual licence to OneDegree
It is the first to offer non-life insurance directly on a digital platform.
The Hong Kong Insurance Authority (HKIA) has awarded insurtech OneDegree a virtual insurance licence under the 2017 Fast Track scheme, according to a news release.
OneDegree is now the first independent tech firm in the city to offer non-life insurance directly to clients on a digital platform.
The insurer will soon be rolling out a range of products such as pet, health and cyber insurance.
