Hong Kong inks customs pact with Russia

To combat transnational offences.

According to a report, customs departments of Hong Kong and Russia have signed an agreement on collaborating in combating transnational customs offences.

Commissioner of Customs & Excise Clement Cheung and Russian Federal Customs Service Head Andrey Belyaninov signed the Memorandum of Understanding Regarding Co-operation & Mutual Administrative Assistance.

Mr Cheung exchanged the agreement with Russian Federal Customs Service Deputy Head Sergey Komlichenko at a ceremony yesterday.

The department has concluded similar agreements with 21 international counterparts.
