Hong Kong interbank rates flat for 43 weeks in a row
It remains unchanged at 0.40%.
According to Hong Kong Monetary Authority, for the 43rd consecutive week, there were no changes to Hong Kong’s interbank rates.
The three-month Hibor stayed unchanged at 0.40%, while the Libor remained at 0.31%. The HKMA injected another HKD17.9bn last week into the FX market to defend the Hong Kong Dollar peg.
Nomura notes that the total balance in Hong Kong banking system would reach HKD180.9bn, after the HKMA injected HKD32.2bn since Oct 20 2012.
