5, 200 vacancies to be offered at the Tung Chung Job Fair

Job-seekers must be ready from May 15-16.

According to a report, the Tung Chung Job Fair will be held from May 15 to 16, offering more than 5,200 vacancies.

The 54 participating organisations will offer jobs in the retail, catering, transport and airport services industries. Twenty-seven organisations will set up counters and conduct on-the-spot recruitment each day.

Vacancies include posts such as aircraft maintenance trainee, terminal attendant, cargo handler, sales person, waiter/waitress, kitchen assistant, storekeeper, security guard and pest control technician.

About 80% of the vacancies are full-time jobs, and most offer monthly salaries ranging from $6,000 to $11,000. Nearly all require a Secondary Six education level or below, while over 60% are open to job seekers without relevant experience. Visit the Labour Department’s website for details.

Job seekers can submit applications and may be selected for on-site interviews. The Labour Department will also conduct on-the-spot registration.

The fair will be held from 11.30am to 6pm at Tung Chung Community Hall, G/F, Tung Chung Municipal Services Building.
