Enhancement program for disabled workers unveiled
Subsidy applications are invited until 19 July.
According to a report, the Social Welfare Department is inviting employers of people with disabilities to submit subsidy applications for workplace enhancements.
The subsidy is to be used to purchase assistive devices or workplace modifications to enable greater efficiency.
The first round of applications can be submitted between June 3 and July 19.
The department has commissioned Po Leung Kuk to operate, promote and help administer the programme. It will also advise the department in implementing the scheme.
Devices and modifications catering to special needs will be considered, such as computer accessories or adaptive equipment, optical magnifying devices, hearing and assistive devices, Braille products and handrails.
