According to a report, the total Comprehensive Social Security Assistance caseload in October stood at 262,547, with 398,685 recipients. There were 1,157 fewer cases, down 0.4%, when compared to September's caseload.
Low-earnings cases and unemployment cases registered month-to-month decreases of 1.9% and 1.2% to 9,127 cases and 21,801 cases. Single-parent cases also dropped 0.9% to 29,574 cases. Ill-health cases decreased 0.4% to 25,137 cases.
Old-age cases and permanent-disability cases fell 0.1% to 151,606 cases, and 18,469 cases.
