According to a report, the overall Comprehensive Social Security Assistance caseload stood at 263,704 in September, with a total of 400,344 recipients.
Compared to August, there was a drop of 1,138 cases, a 0.4% decrease.
Low-earnings and single-parent cases registered month-to-month decreases of 1.5% and 1.1% to 9,306 and 29,844 cases. Jobless cases dropped 1% to 22,068 cases. Old-age and permanent-disability cases both dipped 0.2% to 151,820 cases and 18,486 cases.
Ill-health cases remained steady at 25,240.
