80% of Hong Kong workers prefer hybrid or remote setups
40% of Hong Kong employees would skip a pay raise for flexibility.
Eight in 10 or 80% of employees based in Hong Kong showed a strong preference to continue working hybrid or remotely, four years after the pandemic, a Morgan McKinley survey revealed.
More than half (55%) of Hong Kong professionals favour a 3-4 days in-office setup while 21% prefer 1-2 days. Only 20% are happy to work 5 days onsite.
The survey also revealed that 40% of employees would rather have flexibility over getting a pay hike.
In addition, 56% of employees who work 5 days on-site are the ones actively looking for new job opportunities compared to hybrid employees (41%) and remote employees (44%).
Meanwhile, 91% of companies urge employees to work onsite more regularly.
“2024 will be a pivotal year to see if organisations see flexibility as not just a perk but a fundamental aspect of workplace cultures creating a more inclusive, productive, and resilient workforce.,” Robert Sheffield, Managing Director for Morgan McKinley Hong Kong said.
Morgan McKinley surveyed over 3400 professionals and 650 employers/hiring managers globally on their views on hiring and workplace trends.
