AI to play crucial role in cybersecurity staffing
Three in 10 professionals are extremely concerned about AI-powered attacks.
Several cybersecurity professionals (14%) anticipate a budget cut of 21% this year, raising concerns about sufficient funding for the necessary team expansions needed for efficient response against emerging cyber threats.
Hays found that 38% of professionals are "extremely" concerned about AI-powered attacks. Correspondingly, half of the professionals in Hong Kong believe AI will impact headcount within a year.
In a separate poll conducted over six weeks in late 2023, 39% of Hong Kong employees said their company was not adopting AI sufficiently to stay relevant.
“Cyber security experts globally are preparing for the influence of AI on their capacity to continue functioning efficiently. As criminals gain access to evolving tools that heighten their threat capacities, so too will companies need to adjust their security toolkits to respond,” Sue Wei, Managing Director at Hays Greater China said.
