Half of jobseekers will ditch drawn-out applications
Frustrated Hong Kongers would not recommend these firms to peers.
Half (51%) of Hong Kong jobseekers have expressed willingness to withdraw their applications if they fail to receive prompt feedback, according to recruiting firm Robert Half Hong Kong.
Slow feedback and lack of timely updates are amongst the top frustrations of Hong Kong applicants (34%). Of this number, 60% claimed that they would not recommend the company as potential employer if they fail to receive an update on where they stand in the recruitment process.
Lack of transparency on the job’s benefits package is also a cause of frustration for many Hong Kongers followed by poor communication on the part of the hiring manager, difficulties arising from scheduling interviews and disappointment with contractual terms.
“In a candidate-short market, businesses looking to secure the best person for the job risk alienating job applicants with long, drawn-out interview processes,” said Robert Half Hong Kong managing director Adam Johnston.
