
Jobless rate flat at 2.8% in August-October
This translates to around 116,000 unemployed persons.
The labour market in Hong Kong remained tight as unemployment levels held steady at 2.8% in August-October from the same rate in July-September, according to the Census & Statistics department.

The headline figure translates to around 116,000 unemployed persons in August-October which marks a decline of around 1,800 from July-September.
“The unemployment situation in most of the major service sectors continued to improve on a year-on-year basis, notably in the accommodation services sector amidst the buoyant performance of inbound tourism,” Secretary for Labour and Welfare, Dr Law Chi-kwong, said in a statement.
On the other hand, underemployment levels also remained unchanged at 1.2% to 46,700.
Total employment hit 3.87 million in August-October whilst the labour force dipped by around 3,800 to 3.98 million over the same period.
