
Middle-level managerial salaries up 1.2% in June
Those in the building and construction segment had the largest salary gains.
Workers have reason to cheer as the average monthly salaries for middle-level managerial and professional employees across industries continued to rise by 1.2% YoY in June, according to the Census & Statistics department.
Salary hikes ranged from 0.8% to 2.2% with the building, construction and related trade industries booking the most visible salary gains.

On a nominal basis, monthly wages picked up by 3.5% YoY and could be located within a range from 3.1% to 4.5%.
“This was underpinned by the keen demand for higher-skilled talents in the corporate sector amidst the vibrant economic performance and Hong Kong's continual development towards a knowledge-based economy,” a government spokesperson said in a statement.
Around four in ten middle-level managerial and professional employees were also entitled to guaranteed year-end bonus with 70% ensured of irregular profit-sharing bonuses.
