Multinational companies offer more flexible work options

Only four in 10 MNCs have a five-day in-office work.

Local companies also have a higher percentage of employees working on-site compared to international ones, data from Hays revealed.

In a report, Hays said six in 10 (68.8%) local companies have a five-day in-office work set-up, whilst only four in 10 (40.9%) multinational companies have the same.

MNCs are also more likely to offer four-day (16.6% vs 9.0%) and three-day (16.6% vs 11.7%) in-office work setups.

Generally, skilled professionals (72.8%) in Hong Kong are satisfied with their flexible work arrangements.

The study also found that 40.5% of respondents believe in-person interactions are crucial for team morale.

Hays found that 66.5% of those dissatisfied with current arrangements work on-site at least four days a week.

Opinions on who should determine work policies are divided, with 38.6% favouring leadership discretion and 37% advocating for shared decision-making.
