6 in 10 transport and logistics players report environmental requirement gaps with clients
The environmental requirement gap between players and clients is 12%.
More than half of transport and logistics players in Hong Kong (60%) agree that there is a gap between their and their client’s environmental requirements.
According to the joint study of the Hang Seng University of Hong Kong and the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport launched during the Asian Logistics, Maritime and Aviation Conference 2023, the environmental requirement gap between players and clients stands at 12%.
The gap is bigger between SMEs and clients (18%) than corporations and clients (11%).
The environmental gaps between corporations and clients are most evident in the aspect of reverse logistics (13%) and sustainable sourcing (12%).
Meanwhile, the major environmental gaps between SMEs and clients are sustainable sourcing (25%) and carbon and greenhouse gas emissions (23%).
